The Financial Reporting Architect will be the go-to expert responsible for designing, building, and maintaining all customer financial reports. This role requires deep technical experience with ERP systems and BI platforms, strong financial acumen, and an ability to develop scalable, accurate, and insightful reporting tools. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on — able to lead cross-functional initiatives while also diving deep into the data.
This is a night shift, work-from-home position scheduled from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and enhance customer financial reports using ERP and BI reporting tools.
• Serve as the technical and functional owner of all customer reporting workflows and outputs.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of financial reporting — from data ingestion and transformation to report design, delivery, and follow-up.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Finance, Business Development, Customer Service, IT, etc.) to define reporting requirements based on customer contracts and evolving business needs.
• Lead the development and execution of a reporting strategy that drives customer insight, transparency, and operational effectiveness.
• Act as a bridge between Finance, Technology, and Business Development to ensure customer needs are anticipated and addressed with scalable solutions.
• Establish and maintain reporting standards, controls, and governance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Work within ERP systems to extract, validate, and structure financial data for reporting use.
• Use BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to build dashboards, templates, and scheduled reports.
• Identify data gaps and inconsistencies, and lead efforts to resolve root causes and drive data quality improvements.
• Proactively identify opportunities to automate and optimize recurring reporting processes.
• Partner with IT and ERP administrators to enhance reporting infrastructure and workflows.
• Design and deliver custom reporting packages for high-value clients and strategic accounts.
• Monitor reporting processes for quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Train and mentor internal stakeholders on interpreting financial data and leveraging reporting tools.
• Develop and maintain a customer reporting roadmap, outlining future enhancements and scaling strategies.
• Stay current on industry best practices and introduce new tools or methodologies that improve reporting performance and insight.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s or CPA/CFA a plus).
• 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, FP&A, finance systems, or data architecture in a complex environment; pharma or distribution experience is a strong plus.
• Proven expertise with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
• Deep understanding of financial statements, reporting standards, and financial KPIs.
• Strong ability to build and automate scalable, customer-facing reports from large datasets.
• High level of technical proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and presentation.
• Experience developing and enforcing reporting governance and data accuracy standards.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data and systems to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a bias for ownership and execution.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, Excel macros, or other advanced data tools.
• Experience with revenue models, chargebacks, rebates, or other pharma-related financial mechanisms.
• Background in designing or maintaining financial reporting roadmaps or reporting frameworks in a high-growth environment.
